🏳️‍🌈 + 🖤 Person #9: Billy Porter

And the category is…. Tremendously Talented.

If you don’t understand that phrase, I will do you a big favor and let you know about a fantastic TV show called Pose on FX. The first two seasons are on Netflix. It’s about LGBTQ People of Color and the NYC ballroom scene in the late 1980s and early 1990s. This show is where I was introduced to Billy Porter, and I think many others were as well. He has become one of my favorite actors. He was around long before Pose, though, but mostly on Broadway. He started in theater in the early 1990s. He has a Tony and an Emmy. Be prepared to see a lot more of Billy in the future. I cannot wait.

Billy put out a video message in early June about the recent events in the US. I highly recommend watching this.

Also, Billy just covered ‘For What It’s Worth’ in support of Black Lives Matter. I am obsessed with this cover lately.
