A few months ago I was having a conversation with some of the developers on my team because I was frustrated that some previous developers commented out code instead of deleting it even though they had source control. It was so ridiculous to the point where 30% of the classes were commented out. My co-worker made a comment that some of the previous developers were hoarders of code similar to the TV show Hoarders. I then questioned when we would find the dead cat in the code since more often than not dead cats are found on the TV show. So yesterday when I was going through some code, about a month after our conversation, I found this lovely commented out code! I calmly informed my co-workers that I actually found a dead cat. The look on the people’s faces that were not part of the earlier conversation was priceless.

Today will be one week since my grandpa passed away. I miss him a ton but am thankful that he is no longer in pain. Here were some photos I found of us this weekend when I was younger.

This is the skygarden at my work. I just recently discovered it. It’s on the roof of a building and my floor has access to it. It is an awesome place to go eat lunch on a beautiful day like today!

The previous owner of our house had a huge perennial mess in the front of the house. She pretty much had one of every type of perennial known to mankind. Wes and I dug them all up today and planted new lilies and hostas. They already look better than before and they will look even better once they fill in a little bit.
